Yailyn Murphy is a bilingual Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and National Certified Counselor, with a certification in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C). She earned her Bachelor of Science in Child Development and Psychology from Meredith College and her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy, from Appalachian State University.

Yailyn is dedicated to creating a warm, compassionate, and supportive space where clients feel safe, seen, and empowered. With nine years of clinical experience, she has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families, with a deep focus on trauma and perinatal mental health. Yailyn is especially passionate about walking alongside women through the many changes and challenges that can come with pregnancy, postpartum, perinatal loss, and parenting.
Her approach is integrative, encompassing Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She is trained and rostered in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). She brings a gentle, affirming approach to supporting individuals through the perinatal period and all it entails.
Yailyn's own journey through perinatal anxiety and loss has shaped not only the lens through which she approaches the therapeutic relationship, but also the compassion and empathy she brings into every session. Yailyn believes that no mother should have to navigate these experiences alone—and that all mothers deserve access to support that is understanding, personalized, and culturally sensitive.

Outside of her work, Yailyn enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and family, reading, exercising with her gym community, exploring local coffee shops, and convincing herself that she has a green thumb. She’s also committed to staying informed on the latest research in perinatal mental health and child development to best support those she serves.
