Intensive Outpatient Therapy
Intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) are for those who are not getting their mental health needs met with weekly outpatient therapy. They may still feel depressed, anxious, or irritable most days, making it difficult to parent, work, and relax. IOP involves enhanced support for a short period of time. At Anchor’s IOP, pregnant and postpartum people attend three mornings a week to learn and practice coping skills and be in community with others who truly get it. Individual and family therapy is also included. They learn several different therapy modalities to help them decide which works best for them. Once their symptoms have decreased to a more manageable level, they continue their work in weekly outpatient therapy with the provider of their choice.
