Provider FAQs
Do you provide virtual screenings?
-
Our goal is to provide care to moms across NC, regardless of their location. If you have a patient who cannot make it to an in-person PMADs screening, they may reach out to schedule a virtual screening by emailing us or scheduling an appointment through our website.
What therapeutic modalities do you use?
-
We use a wide variety of approaches including DBT, ACT, CPT, IPT, Cognitive-Behavioral Techniques, and Somatic Techniques. EMDR resourcing and OCD specific treatment like ERP and I-CBT are also incorporated into treatment. Patients learn several therapeutic modalities to offer them a variety of coping skills and tools.

Do you take insurance?
-
Yes. We take the following insurances: Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, Magellan, and Tricare. For those who are uninsured or facing financial hardship, we offer a limited number of sliding-scale and pro bono spots, with special consideration given to individuals from marginalized groups.

How do I refer a patient?
-
For direct referrals, contact our dedicated admission line at (919) 275-0806 or reach out via email at info@anchorperinatal.com. Providers can also refer a patient through our HIPAA-compliant referral form on our website. We contact your patient the same or next business day to follow up on your referral.
Do you offer medication management?
-
We do not offer medication management at Anchor; however, we work closely with trusted specialists in reproductive psychopharmacology who can support your patient with their medication needs. We can connect patients quickly to a provider if they arrive to us seeking pharmaceutical intervention as part of their treatment plan.

IOP-Specific Questions

How Long Does the IOP Last?
-
IOP cohorts work with an open admission model, so your patients can be admitted at any point that their mental health requires IOP. On average, clients attend 8-10 weeks of IOP treatment. At time of discharge, our clients’ mood and other symptoms have improved, they are using coping skills to manage stressors, and are feeling more hopeful about their ability to parent effectively and cope with daily demands.

How Does the Virtual IOP Work?
-
Our virtual IOP option is open to anyone in North Carolina and meets online three days a week for three hours through a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. It is a separate group from our in-person group that meets in our Raleigh office.
Do Babies Stay with the Moms During IOP Sessions?
-
Because we want to focus on our clients, babies do not stay with moms during their in-person IOP sessions. However, we offer onsite childcare–Little Anchors–which is accessible to clients throughout their sessions. Childcare fees are $25 a day for one child, $40 a day for 2 children. If cost is a barrier, we can offer pro bono or sliding scale fees. Childcare fees are not covered by insurance, but clients can check the parameters of their HSA/FSA as a potential way to cover the fees.

Where does a patient go after they finish with the IOP?
-
Once symptoms improve to a manageable level, clients are discharged from our program and transition back to their original outpatient provider. If clients want additional referrals, we will work with them to find a provider who fits their needs.
