The Postpartum Support International Conference

Postpartum Support International (PSI) has long been a beacon of hope for those navigating the complex world of perinatal mental health. This year, in 2023, our journey led us to the vibrant heart of Kansas City, Missouri, where Anchor Perinatal Wellness made waves at the PSI conference.

The PSI conference is an annual gathering of professionals, advocates, and organizations dedicated to improving the mental well-being of individuals during pregnancy and the postpartum period. It's a platform for sharing insights, strategies, and inspiration, and this year, Anchor Perinatal Wellness played a significant role.

Creating a Perinatal Mental Health System of Care

Our founders took the stage with passion and expertise to lead a captivating 90-minute presentation titled "Creating a Perinatal Mental Health System of Care." The aim was clear: to share our vision and knowledge about building a comprehensive system that offers unwavering support for expecting and postpartum individuals.

This presentation was not just about Anchor Perinatal Wellness; it was about the broader community and the commitment to creating an inclusive and accessible network of care. We shared insights into the challenges faced by individuals during this transformative period and offered strategies to address those challenges effectively.

Our team at Anchor Perinatal Wellness understands that mental health support during pregnancy and the postpartum phase is not a one-size-fits-all solution. It requires collaboration, compassion, and an array of services to meet the diverse needs of those we serve. Our presentation delved into the importance of individualized care, showcasing how it can make all the difference.

A Strong Presence

But our journey at PSI didn't end with our presentation. We were thrilled to have two of our staff members, Oona-Ife Olaiya Wright, LCSWA, and Megan Stauffer, LCSWA, in attendance. Their presence at the conference symbolizes our dedication to staying at the forefront of perinatal mental health, staying informed, and continuing to grow our expertise.

Anchoring Hope

Our experience at the PSI conference in Kansas City was an opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals and organizations, to learn from one another, and to collaborate towards the common goal of providing the best possible care to expecting and postpartum individuals. It was a reminder that our mission at Anchor Perinatal Wellness, to be a steady anchor for those in need, is shared by many.

As we return home to North Carolina, we carry with us the knowledge, inspiration, and a strengthened commitment to providing the best possible perinatal mental health services. Our journey at the PSI conference was about anchoring hope, and we can't wait to continue this journey with you. Together, we'll create a more compassionate and supportive world for expecting and new parents.
